One of the worst features of the program is when it allows a user to select which portions of the registry to scan. Not only does this give users the ability to miss out on potential infections, but it is very dangerous to someone who does not know what they are doing. People could expect the program to work, and then nothing happens because they are not scanning the right part of the registry. Also, some users might experience weird system crashes due to a file being fixed but not completely removed because of the partial scanning feature.
Scheduled scans are another one of RegCure's most touted features. However, they are one of its most difficult to use features. Some users are unable to scan unless they physically press a button when the scan starts. Also, most users of RegCure are not aware of where this feature is located in the program when they install it.
The program loves to tout its ability to monitor and cleanup a users startup programs. While this may seem like it is a great feature on the surface, it can be a real pain in the butt for some users. Users who do not know enough about their computer may be confused by the complex wording of this feature, and ultimately feel like they did not want to delete the files that were in their startup folder.
A few users have begun reporting that when they are using the program, they are receiving illegal operation error messages and then the computer is shutting down. Some of the same group of users have said that once they have booted in safe mode, and removed RegCure they have been able to use their computer normally once again. While this could be associated with a registry error itself, it is more likely a program issue with the program itself.
Another downside to the program is that it does not include a defrag feature. Many other registry editors include this feature, and it can be great for people trying to fit more items onto their hard drive. However, RegCure does not include it, making a lot of users irritated until they find the defrag feature built into windows.

RegCure only has one backup method, which is concerning to a lot of people. Some other registry editors include three or more methods to backup your registry in case of a problem. RegCure also does not include the option to go directly to the regedit screen and export the backup yourself. This is the only sure way to backup your registry, even if the program says it does it for you! In order to fix the registry problems on your computer, make sure to use a proven registry cleaner that will remove everything!
